军事友好 2022-23

Frostburg State University recently announced that it has earned the 2023-2024 军事友好 School designation marking the 12th consecutive time that FSU has received this distinction.

The 军事友好 Schools list honors colleges, universities and trade schools across the country that go above and beyond to embrace America’s military service members, veterans and spouses as students and ensure their success on campus.

Institutions earning the 军事友好 School designation were evaluated using both public data sources and responses from a proprietary survey. 多于1,800 schools participated in the 2023-2024 survey, and FSU is one of 665 schools earning the 军事友好 appointment.

“军事友好’s standards provide a benchmark that promotes positive outcomes and support services that better the educational landscape and provide opportunity for the military community,” said Kayla Lopez, National Director of Military Partnerships, 军事友好. “Schools who achieve awards designation show true commitment in their efforts, going over and above that standard.”

方法, criteria and weightings were determined by Viqtory, which serves military personnel and their spouses transitioning into civilian life, with input from the 军事友好 Advisory Council of independent leaders in higher education. Final ratings were determined by combining the institution’s ability to meet thresholds for retention, 毕业, 就业安置, 偿还贷款, persistence and loan default rates for all students and specifically, for student veterans.

“Frostburg State University has worked very hard to be military-friendly and continue with serving students who served,” said Clarissa Lang, Director of the 退伍军人服务 Office. “Our students have the support they need by having their own veterans center on campus where they can study, meet with other students, receive counseling services, 还有更多.朗继续说道。, “We are proud of our veteran community and will continue improving our services to help them!”

FSU will be showcased along with other 2023-2024 军事友好 Schools in the May and October issues of G.I. Jobs magazine online.

FSU is home to a Veterans Center that proudly welcomes student veterans and dependents of veterans and ensures that they receive the academic benefits, resources and representation that they have earned. 另外, members of the Student Veterans Association often perform community and alumni outreach activities through fundraisers and programs.

Frostburg State is also home to a chapter of SALUTE, the first national higher education honor society for student veterans and military service members. SALUTE members are recognized at ceremonies biannually.
